Mary Kubica ~ Local Woman Missing

Started this book on 7/18/26.  Finished on 7/28/26.  9 Days to finish.

2 women and a small girl go missing in a small town.  1 of the women was the mother of the small girl so they disappeared together.  The other, the wife of an upscale business man.
Delilah, the you girl is (what you think) kept hostage savagely by a “treat” of a couple.  Held in captivity in the basement with no light, bed or toilet.
Meridith, Delilah’s mother is found with a suicide note in a shady hotel room.

The other woman missing is found partially buried and naked.

Who done it?  You’ll have to read the book to find out.  Things aren’t what they seem in this book and the twists are numerous.

Chapters were fairly short.  Characters were well written.  I could picture most of them in my head.  The timeline in the book made me question things and try and find things that weren’t there.

I’m giving this book a 9/10.  Once I got to the meat of the story I couldn’t put it down.

Kimberly Hensle Lawernce ~ What Remains of You

Amazon First Read.  Started on 7/5/26.  The day before my birthday.  I finished it on 7/17/26.  12 days.
Characters were well written and chapters were fairly short.  I knew who everyone was.  I could picture them.
I didn’t care for the story though.  She dragged on and on without getting to the “meat” quickly enough for me.
It was definitely a plausible story but it was to “feely” for me.

Imaging your spouse dying and 9 months later you find a letter from them claiming they’ve done something so terrible they couldn’t tell you or the kids.
Would you track down what it was or “let sleeping dogs lie”?  Well she had to track down what it was.  I had so many theories about what it could have been and the writer gives it away (or most of it) with a reveal in the middle of the book.  So we kind of know what the secret is but the last 2 chapters wrap it all up.

Giving this book a 6 out of 10.

Eric O’neill ~ Spies, Lies and Cybercrime

Started this book on 6/20/26.  The chapters are well written so far and examples seem to be useful.

I’ll let you know when I finish.
I finished this book on 7/4/26.  Yep July 4th.  In DC waiting for fireworks that night!

It gets me how lame I am with some of the techniques he’s writing about.  Using the same password.  I’m guilty of that.

Great book anyway and I watched the movie too.  He’s pretty cool

Giving this book a 9.5/10 because it interested me.
