Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher – Never Never pt. 2

Started on 9/23/2022.  If part 2 is half as good as part 1 I’m probably going to finish it soon.  Finished on 9/25/2022.  Yes only 2 days.  It was pretty short. We find out a lot of information about the kids.  Charlie is locked up somewhere.  Silas can’t remember much but goes looking for her.  Finds her and rescues her.  They spend the night in a motel and review all the notes and journals.

I LOVE this series.  Giving this a 9/10 only because I think she could include a lot more detail.

Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher – Never Never pt. 1

Starting this book on 9/18/22.  Haven’t read any of it yet.  9/23/22 I finished part 1.  This is a three part book.  I’m going to review each one as its own though. DAMN!!!!!  This is a great read.  Chapters are by person.  I love that.  They are mostly short chapters.  I love that.  The story line is FANTASTIC!  Silas and Charlie are high school sweet hearts who have both lost their memory.  They have to figure out who they are and why their life is in such disarray.  The ending is a shocker, just like every Colleen Hoover book but she blames it on Tarryn.  I will start part 2 today.  I just can’t even put it down.

Kaira Rouda – The Favorite Daughter

I just finished two very good books.  Kaira is a great writer though and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one.  I started on 9/6/2022.  I’m only one chapter in so far. Finished on 9/17/22.  11 Days.  I didn’t really care for this one.  It’s mostly the thoughts of a crazy woman trying to scheme her way around her daughters murder.  She is very narcasistic and doesn’t think anything is her fault.  Characters are easy to remember, chapters are kind of long and subject matter I didn’t really care for.  All in all I’m only giving this book a 6/10 for enjoyment.  Writing style was OK but a LOT of rambling.

Christopher Greyson -The girl who lived

Started on 08/28/2022.  This was a TicTok recommended book.  If it’s half as good as Verity (Colleen Hoover) I won’t want to put it down.  Well it was better than half as good.  I finished the book on 9/5/2022.  9 days.

Faith, she’s twisted up from watching her father and friend get murdered.  She gets out of the loony bin and the story unfolds.  Rat face and his accomplice get caught and then the twist…..WOW!

Chapters are short, characters are well developed and story line is really good.  Give the book a 9/10 (only because of the amount of characters that I had to remember).

Coleen Hoover – Verity

Started this book on 8/22/22.  No input yet.  8/28/22 finished.  OMG!!!!  This book was twisted to the max.  Jeremy & Verity are married, she is in a catatonic state.  They hire Lowen to finish writing Verity’s series of books due to her condition.  Lowen starts to fall for Jeremy while living in their home.  She also finds a manuscript written by Verity.  It’s twisty and twisted.  Someone ends up dead and then Lowen finds a letter…..explaining everything!  That’s it.  I could NOT put this book down.  6 days.  I couldn’t put it down.

John Sandford – Mind Prey (book 7)

I started this book on 8/4/2022.  Lucas is tracking a kidnapper who took his therapists and her two girls.  John Mail has been twisted since he was a kid.  He needed therapy.  He snapped.  Lucas is going to ask Weather to marry him…He hasn’t yet.  Family of kidnapped therapist is rich.

Well Lucas gets his guy.  Twisted story for sure.  Great read.  Finished on 8/22/22.  18 days total.  Not to bad.

Delia Owens – Where the Crawdads Sing

I started this book on 7/21/2022.  This book has been on the Best Sellers List for a long time.  The movie just came out and I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie.  I’m 18 chapters in and so far…it’s just OK for me.  Characters are well written, the landscape is described in lengthy detail and the “mystery” is just beginning.

Kya (a swamp girl) has a very rough life.  Family has abandon her when she was very young and she is forced to live in her shack in the swamp and learn life on her own.

I finished the book on 8/4/2022.  16 days.  Not a bad read.  The ending was kind of predictable.  Not a Scooby-Do mystery but….

Kendra is going to read the book next and then we will watch the movie.  I give the book a 8/10.

Lucinda Berry – Under Her Care

Started this book on 7/9/2022.  One of my favorite authors…This should be a good one…….

It did NOT disappoint.  Her writing is dark.  Subjects I certainly don’t like talking about.  Genevive is a mother of an “autistic” son.  She also has a daughter in college so most of her attention is focus on the son.  He is accused of a murder but with his autistic symptoms no one believes that he could have done it.

So who did it and why…..

Great book.  I finished on 7/20/2022 so 11 days to read this one.  It keeps you guessing until the very end.  I give it a 9/10.  Chapters were short, characters were very well written and I just love the dark content.

John Sandford – Night Prey (book 6)

Going back to an old friend.  Lucas Davenport.  Started on 6/17/2022.  (I did start this book on 6/17 but we went on vacation and I read a book during that trip so my reading days of this book are skewed a bit).

Lucas is Deputy Chief and working on a crime where the criminal (Koop) guts women.  It was a long story and Lucas is still with Weather but has a wondering eye when it comes to women anyway.  One of the cops on the force with him (a female) has cancer and is very sick.  She wants to catch the criminal before she dies of cancer.  Well they catch the killer (koop) but….. the cliffhanger.

I finished this book on 7/8/2022.  30 days….Ugh, that’s to long.

Michele Campbell – A Stranger on the Beach

This book was given to me for fathers day.  I saved it for a couple of days as my “vacation” book.  A physical book given to me by Delaney. I started the book on 6/25/2022 and finished on 6/30/2022.  Yep 5 days.

I really enjoyed the book.  Chapters were short.  Story was good although a little predictable towards the end.

Aiden (the local bad boy) meets Caroline (the rich lady who built a house on his Grandaddy’s land).  They have a one night stand because Caroline thinks her husband is cheating on her.  So turn about is fair play.  Well the story goes way deeper than that.  Caroline’s husband is into some “deep” trouble with some bad mamma jamma’s and ends up not alive….Did Aiden do it?  Did Caroline do it?  Did the bad mamma jamma’s do it?  Like I said the ending was a little predictable but the book was thoroughly enjoyable.  I give it an 8/10
