I started this book on 7/21/2022.  This book has been on the Best Sellers List for a long time.  The movie just came out and I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie.  I’m 18 chapters in and so far…it’s just OK for me.  Characters are well written, the landscape is described in lengthy detail and the “mystery” is just beginning.

Kya (a swamp girl) has a very rough life.  Family has abandon her when she was very young and she is forced to live in her shack in the swamp and learn life on her own.

I finished the book on 8/4/2022.  16 days.  Not a bad read.  The ending was kind of predictable.  Not a Scooby-Do mystery but….

Kendra is going to read the book next and then we will watch the movie.  I give the book a 8/10.

Started this book on 7/9/2022.  One of my favorite authors…This should be a good one…….

It did NOT disappoint.  Her writing is dark.  Subjects I certainly don’t like talking about.  Genevive is a mother of an “autistic” son.  She also has a daughter in college so most of her attention is focus on the son.  He is accused of a murder but with his autistic symptoms no one believes that he could have done it.

So who did it and why…..

Great book.  I finished on 7/20/2022 so 11 days to read this one.  It keeps you guessing until the very end.  I give it a 9/10.  Chapters were short, characters were very well written and I just love the dark content.

Going back to an old friend.  Lucas Davenport.  Started on 6/17/2022.  (I did start this book on 6/17 but we went on vacation and I read a book during that trip so my reading days of this book are skewed a bit).

Lucas is Deputy Chief and working on a crime where the criminal (Koop) guts women.  It was a long story and Lucas is still with Weather but has a wondering eye when it comes to women anyway.  One of the cops on the force with him (a female) has cancer and is very sick.  She wants to catch the criminal before she dies of cancer.  Well they catch the killer (koop) but….. the cliffhanger.

I finished this book on 7/8/2022.  30 days….Ugh, that’s to long.

This book was given to me for fathers day.  I saved it for a couple of days as my “vacation” book.  A physical book given to me by Delaney. I started the book on 6/25/2022 and finished on 6/30/2022.  Yep 5 days.

I really enjoyed the book.  Chapters were short.  Story was good although a little predictable towards the end.

Aiden (the local bad boy) meets Caroline (the rich lady who built a house on his Grandaddy’s land).  They have a one night stand because Caroline thinks her husband is cheating on her.  So turn about is fair play.  Well the story goes way deeper than that.  Caroline’s husband is into some “deep” trouble with some bad mamma jamma’s and ends up not alive….Did Aiden do it?  Did Caroline do it?  Did the bad mamma jamma’s do it?  Like I said the ending was a little predictable but the book was thoroughly enjoyable.  I give it an 8/10

This is an Amazon first read.  Started on 6/6/2022.  First time reading this author.

I really enjoyed the book.  The chapters were short, characters well defined and the story line was very interesting.  The boy Toby is accused of multiple murders in a small town in Utah.  The sheriff didn’t have much evidence.  The “retired” prosecutor came back to try the case.  The twist at the very end will throw you for a loop.

I give this book a 10/10 because of the shorter chapters and well written characters.  11 days (10 really cause I finished Billy Boyle the same day and started this book late.

I broke off from reading my last book.  It was not as interesting as I thought it would be.  I started Rag and Bone on 5/17/22.

Only a few chapters into the book but so far….Just like a good pair of jeans.  It just fits.  Finished on 6/6/22.  There were a lot of characters in this book.  It was a good story but he didn’t crack the case until almost the final chapter.  Then he got to meet Churchill.

Working in London (Daphne in the Vatican) he had to crack the case of a murdered Soviet.  Spies, backstabbing and Vodka.  Lots of each.  He seems to be drinking a LOT.  Waking up with hangovers A LOT!

20 Days to read this book.  Don’t know why it took so long.  It was good.  I’ll give it a 8/10.

4/17/2022 Started John Sandford Winter Prey.  Book 4 in the series.  It’s cold in Northern Wisconsin.  A murder happens of a family of three.  Mom, Dad and 13 year old daughter.  There’s a picture….The killer was looking for it but figured if he couldn’t find it to burn the house with the dead bodies in it.  The search starts and Davenport is on the case.  5/2/2022.  Just finished the book.  Keeps you guessing till the end.  Lukas falls for another doctor, gets shot and hopefully recovers.  They catch the killer (of course) but not until after the winter chase scene on snowmobiles.  Good book.  Rate it 8/10.  Characters are easy to follow and several are key characters in the book.

4/2/2022 started.  Amazon First Read I believe.  Just started so nothing to write yet. 4/16/22 Just finished.  Twisted for sure.  Dr. Moore, a criminal psychyatrist has a client that wants to kill his wife.  So she thinks.  Six high school kids are abducted and killed left without a penis and a heart carved into their chest.  The father of one of the boys is a lawyer who is representing the apprehended alleged killer.  He knows he’s not the killer though and Dr. Moore has to profile him (the alleged killer).  To many twists and turns, the ending is intense.  Give this book a 8/10.  Characters are memorable.  Not a scooby doo mystery.

This was a book recommended from a TikTok post.  I started the book on 3/23/22.  Four chapters in.  Storyline not yet unfolding.  Characters are easy to remember so far.  Lily is a young single living in Boston.  Starting her own flower business.  She meets Ryle (yes like Kyle but with an R).  She writes to Ellen DeGeneres in her “diary”.  Chapters are long though.

Most of the chapters were doable.  Poor Lily.  I mean that.  She was torn between 2 men.  She watched her mother in an abusive relationship.  1 man was homeless when they met.  She saved his life but he never felt good enough for her.  The other man, a neurosurgeon, was almost everything.  Except he was the abusive one.

Finished on 4/2/22.  10 days.

Inspirational/Self Help:  This book only has 73 pages and is illustrated.  I read it on 3/30/22.  It only took about half an hour to read.  Which are you?  The shark or the goldfish?  It all depends on your outlook in life.
